What did I tell you about Ravenholm?

Oh yeah, Mitchell and Jarrod are getting into Warhammer now. Being the ignorant fool that I am, I don't take interest in games that don't need a controller and TV in front of me.

By the time you read this, I'll only have two exams left (on Wednesday and Thursday). Soon, I'll have all the time in the world to waste on comic-writing and video-gaming again!

I guess I could do a Halloween themed comic...but then, we're always in costume anyway, right?

F.E.A.R. 3 finally has a release date (March 22), and also comes with some bonus pre-order material (though what you get depends entirely on exactly where you pre-order). No word on how it's going to work for us here in Australia...I'm guessing the Gamestop system counts as EB Games for us. Read the entire IGN newspost here.

I'm thinking of reverting the comic format to the plain ol' standard white bordering...what do you think?

The Prankster of Many Names

So...you may have heard of this "Fable III" game that just came out...

On the very same day, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II also came out. Decisions, decisions...

A Six Digit Intervention

Today's comic is in honour of sir "Stallion83", who for the last 5 years has been working his way to reach 1,000,000 Gamerscore. Last week, he made it to the halfway mark of 500,000 (or; he has absolutely completed a minimum of 500+ Xbox 360 games). Congrats, Stallion83-best of luck for the next 500,000 G's.

This comic also goes out to Charlie, who somehow managed to put up with my bizarre rantings, video-gaming obsessions and preference for junk food for the last few months (a superhuman effort, some would say). I don't know how you do it, but thanks for doing so, Charlie.

So, in gaming news, the team at Bungie released a trailer for the upcoming Noble Map Pack for Halo: Reach. Take a look:

Fear not, my dedicated few readers: I've written up all of this week's comics (and some of next week's) in advance, so the threat of my not publishing thanks to examination study should now be mediated.

Nor Hell A Fury...

...than a Fallout fan scorn'd?

Believe me; it's not that don't want to play Fallout. I love all games, great and small (...ok, that's a lie, but I still want to play Fallout), but with HSC and "life" poking me in the ribs at a continuous rate, I find no time to do so. There are dozens of games on my personal list that I want to play (Assassin's Creed and Left 4 Dead, to name a few), and they shall hopefully be played in due course.

Vanquish also came out this week. This is also a game I want to play, though I hear the story's not quite as compelling as some would hope.

Finally, it may interest you to note that this is the blog's 100th post-even though it's not the 100th comic yet (we're getting there). This is a small little achievement for me...

It's another week until my next exam, so there may be time to write up some more comics yet.

Priority

To any future roommates, spouse and/or significant others...

This is not a joke. This is a WARNING!

I know I said I probably wouldn't post this week...and yet I found some spare time to write this up. Hopefully I find such "spare time" often enough to provide you with some entertainment over the next few weeks.

And yes, I realise I left out posters and Flaming Helmets. My nephew was kind enough to point this out and laugh at me.

EDIT: I tried to find a new Fallout: New Vegas theme for the site. Would you believe it; there are none to be found (or at least none that I consider "worthy"). If you see any you think would do otherwise, let me know.

EDIT OF THE EDIT: Ok, how about this one? Not a wallpaper this time, a screenshot instead.

More Than You Know

By the time you read this, I'll be stuck in a HSC exam.

I don't know what the likelihood of me being able to post over the next month is going to be...I'll likely be immersed in either last-minute study or an exam throughout most of it (you can imagine how much this is cutting into my video gaming time). So for now at least, I'll leave you with this comment on today's comic:

Today's comic is leading up to something. Big.

In other news, the Dead Space 2 Collectors Edition was announced yesterday (I know that's a link to Facebook. I don't have Facebook, so stop asking). Featured is the game itself (obviously), an electronic replica of the iconic Plasma Cutter (don't let the kids find it!), the original soundtrack, a seriously gruesome piece of concept art as a lithograph, and an exclusive in-game Unitology RIG. Plus pre-ordering of course gets you Dead Space Ignition for free (which I so far haven't heard particularly great things about, but I'll have to play it before I can actually give a review).

This could be the last you hear of me for a few weeks, but I'll try and get back to you all (a.k.a.: both of you) as soon as I get a chance to draw again. Nice knowing you.

Second Floor: Tools, Christmas Decorations, Secrets Left Untold

Now you know what's in the attic. Damn, and I voted for a Panda Farm...

Ok, here's the story: as you no doubt have realised, most of my comic characters are based off of real-world personalities in my life (almost all except Allie, she's entirely fictional...but still, wouldn't that be awesome if she were real? We'd play F.E.A.R. and blow up Nintendo Wii's all day long). Mitchell is one of the bigger members of this "real world" I inhabit, and he was no doubt unhappy with him not being integrated more in the comic. So Mitchell: it's taken me 80 comics, but you're finally here with the rest of us.

So in other news, the guys at Epic Games are making up for the news of Gears of War 3 being delayed with the promise of Dedicated Servers (so that's why I couldn't find a match on Gears 2!), player customisation, and...pink Lancers?

Next year's going to be a big year of gaming for me. This will be hell for the teachers if I ever get into that Visual Arts course I applied for the other day. Back to recluse-ment with me then.

EDIT: If you just read this post a day early: shame on you!

We Don't Go To Ravenholm...

Epic foreshadowing...

So what's in the attic? Find out this Monday (assuming I don't get lazy and completely forget about it again).

The Start of Something

Yeah yeah, I know it's a day late.

Do not comment. There's nothing in the attic. Nothing at all...whatsoever...

So in other news not relating to the attic, Enslaved came out yesterday. For those of us uneducated in the matter (myself included), I think this trailer best sums it up:

I admit, when I first saw all of those in-browser advertisements for Enslaved, I wasn't particularly convinced. Having done some research on the game now, it's definitely on my "Games To Play So I Don't Look Like I Only Play Halo" list.

Finally, you've probably noticed that sudden site update. The "Simple" template was good n' all, but I thought it was time for a bit of a site rework. Now it's actually possible to see the background image. Trippy, eh? The comments section is as empty as ever, so if this new template is not to your liking, or if you have any suggestions, write a comment about it.

...please?

Bungie Reference Included

My personal revenge for Jarrod getting a Flaming Helmet with his copy of Halo Reach.

When I first set out to write Three's a Game, I was hoping to make "feedback" comics every Saturday based off someone's comments or poll results.

...it's been a while since any of the comics got any comments.

In other news: Gears of War 3 was delayed this week until Fall 2011 (Spring for us in the Southern Hemisphere). So yeah...a whole year to wait now...

UAC Attack

Yeah, I lost my UAC pin number. Thankfully, I was able to call the UAC hotline and get reissued a pin, so all's well again.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Charlie for all the help she's given me over the last few months. Aside from getting the comic up to scratch, she's also really helped me with university applications. If it hadn't been for you Charlie, I wouldn't even know what a UAC was or why I needed one.

So, thank you Charlotte.

In other news, Day 1 Studios released a new F.E.A.R. 3 trailer showing off "The Almaverse" (very original name).

The first two F.E.A.R. games tended to stick us in the real world, then suddenly and briefly be transported into Alma's reality, before being brought back. Having read an interview from Day 1, it seems now that Alma's world is now more integrated/blended with the real world, meaning that her prescence is going to be much more prevalent this time around.

What's really sad though is to see just how many "internet trolls" have infiltrated all of the forums regarding this game. It seems that for every good (and reasonable) message there is about the game, there are 5 others b*tching about how crappy they think the game is/looks. The game looks fine to me...maybe people aren't happy with the idea of a co-op horror game...or else they weren't happy with how F.E.A.R. 2 turned out. if you're reading this; give the game a go first BEFORE you start wingeing about it. Please. Thank you, your gift basket is in the mail.
